My name is Debbie Weidtman. I was born in Brooklyn, raised in Staten Island, NY. I now reside in PA with my family and our little Yorkshire Terrier, Jax. After the death of my eldest son Shawn, grief took its tole. To occupy my time, I started baking cupcake cake creations of all shapes and sizes for any family function.

Grief is such an individual journey, enveloped by a depth of pain we never dreamed existed. We all have times of despair and loneness that threatens to engulf us. My son Shawn was full of life, he would sit on our front porch strumming his guitar singing songs for hours. One particular song he played over and over:

 "EVER SO SWEET, you baked it in cakes for me."

I remembered that particular song one day while I was baking cupcakes. I decided that is how I will continue to keep his memory alive. I then created,

Shawn lives inside me now, and the same gifts he gave me when he was alive are still available to me in spirit. In some ways, those spirited gifts are stronger and undiluted within me. When days are unbearably hard, when I think of all this wonderful man has missed, I try to remember to focus on the present Shawn, the one inside of me.

In doing so, my creations come from the heart as they ease my pain and grief, for I know my son is always with me...
